AVAILABLE DOGS

     This is Trisha! She's a 3 year old Saluki mix originally from Oman. She came to the US in 2021. Her owner passed away & she sadly found herself with no one to care for her. Trisha is a super happy girl & is still very active! She'll need a fenced yard with at least a 5 ft fence & also a playful dog in her home. Because she plays rough, she'll do best with dogs at least 30 lbs & we'll say that she's probably not cat friendly either. 

She's currently being fostered in IN, but can travel for the right family! 

 Dashing prince Jack is one of the lucky ones, one of a very few who will actually make it out of a shelter in Portugal instead of growing old & being attacked or passing of old age. We want to make a difference for Jack & find him a family of his very own. Jack is only 2 years old & as sweet as they come. He's great with other dogs, but we don't know at this time how he is with cats. A big thanks to our friends at Bring Portuguese Podengos to Light for bringing him to our attention & all the hard work on the ground there! Jack is great with other dogs & loves to snuggle up in a human's lap, if available. He's still a bit shy with men, but will come around if given time to settle.  Introducing Cairo, the spotty boy with the kissy spot on his head. Cairo is a 2 year old podenco found abandoned on the street, but was lucky to have found our friends at SOS Podenco Rescue. He is shy with unknown people, but playful once he knows you. He is very social with other dogs & loves to play with them. Ideally he would need another dog to keep him company & he would do best with no men in the house. It would also be best for him to have a fenced yard and live in a fairly quiet area & at the moment he's still petrified with the leash & will need work to get him used to it. Smallish size, around 45 cm to the shoulders. Cairo is looking for a family of his very own! Don't miss out on this stunning boy. Who is this adorable little munchkin? This is Margarida, a Portuguese Podengo who came to us in 2023 from Portugal. She was returned to us because she's decided that she didn't like to do things like dog sports & go out & about all the time. She's much happier just hanging out at home with an occasional trip out. She's 3.5 yrs old & is great with dogs of all sizes. It's unknown at this time if she's good with cats. She loves to play & will need a secure 6 ft fenced yard. She'll be best with kids over the age of 12 who are respectful of dogs. She's currently being fostered in MN, but can travel for the right family.  Sweet little Carolina was at Casa de Postas for over a year with no interest. She's shy with people initially, but great with other dogs & we believe also cat friendly, but she's still working on that step. She's settling in well with her foster family & is now ready to take the next step to find her forever family. She prefers dogs who won't get in her face & will probably be happiest at home with an occasional trip out.

The eyes have it with this gorgeous golden girl. Once (pronounced ON-Say which means eleven in Spanish) is a 1 year old tiny podenco caught with a trap cage in Spain & taken to our friends at SOS Podenco Rescue.
