AVAILABLE DOGS

     This is Trisha! She's a 3 year old Saluki mix originally from Oman. She came to the US in 2021. Her owner passed away & she sadly found herself with no one to care for her. Trisha is a super happy girl & is still very active! She'll need a fenced yard with at least a 5 ft fence & also a playful dog in her home. Because she plays rough, she'll do best with dogs at least 30 lbs & we'll say that she's probably not cat friendly either. 

She's currently being fostered in IN, but can travel for the right family! 

 Introducing Cairo, the spotty boy with the kissy spot on his head. Cairo is a 2 year old podenco found abandoned on the street, but was lucky to have found our friends at SOS Podenco Rescue. He is shy with unknown people, but playful once he knows you. He is very social with other dogs & loves to play with them. Ideally he would need another dog to keep him company & he would do best with no men in the house. It would also be best for him to have a fenced yard and live in a fairly quiet area & at the moment he's still petrified with the leash & will need work to get him used to it. Smallish size, around 45 cm to the shoulders. Cairo is looking for a family of his very own! Don't miss out on this stunning boy.  We'd like to introduce you to BECKHAM! This sweetie is an approximately 7 year old Italian greyhound (he is a biggy iggy at 16 lbs), who just arrived to the US a few weeks ago. So far, Beckham seems very sweet, and he knows how to do tricks for treats, like shaking a paw, so he was a pet at some point in his life before being rescued in S. Korea by our friends at Team Inch Sighthound Rescue.
Beckham can be quite the stubborn boy & will need a family who understands the breed & won't let him get the upper hand.

This stunning Podenco arrived to Chicago a couple weeks ago from SOS Podenco Rescue & is ready for any & all adventures! He's 1 year old (just a baby!) & would be fabulous on hikes or even doing dog sports! He absolutely loves to please his people. He's also cat workable. He'll need a fenced yard for exercise along with regular walks. If you're looking for a dog ready to hang out with you for every road trip & adventure, this boy is for you! He's also great with other dogs.

 Sweet little Monroe has been returned to us thru no fault of his own. He’s a 3 year old podenco mix & is super sweet, snuggly, & loves to snuggle under blankets. He’s crate trained & loves to play fetch. He’s also totally house trained & is good with kids & other dogs. It’s unknown at this time how he would be with cats. He’s currently in Ohio but can travel for the right family. Fill out an application to add him to your family! 

 This poor guy was in a shelter in the north of Spain for over 2 years. He saw other dogs get adopted & leave, meanwhile others passed away never getting a family, but Vester remained, always being overlooked. Insert a generous soul here in the US who made a donation to sponsor Vester to come to the US! Some of the funds were used to transport him to our friends at Casa de Postas. Pon un podenco en tu vida, 1,600 km south. He remained there until he came to the US to a foster home for a while to decompress & figure out what living in a home is all about. Vester will need someone who will show him the patience & love he so desperately needs right now. Please understand that not everyone can handle a shy dog like Vester.  Axel is just an all-around fabulous galgo! He’s 7 years old & has been in the US for a while so he knows everything about living in a home. He’s a BIG galgo at 80 lbs & because of that potential adopters should have no kids under the age of 10. He loves to play with toys & run around outside in a fenced yard. He must have a fence no shorter than 5 feet & needs someone who will be home often & won't be gone for 8-9 hours/day. He gets along great with other dogs but it’s unknown at this time how he would be with cats. He’s currently being fostered in VA, but can travel for the right family.
