Tripod alert!! What's not to love about a cute little brown dog? Sadly, mixes get left behind & Bola is just one example. He was on the streets last year in Spain & suffered a traumatic injury to his front leg. Luckily for him, he was rescued by our friends at Asociacion Protectora ARGOS & they were able to change his life. He had to have the leg amputated because it just wouldn't heal up, but don't tell this 2 year old that he's missing a leg! He gets around just fine & is the happiest dog at the rescue. He loves to play, go for walks, & is remarkably calm for a 2 year old! He's around 35 lbs & is great with other dogs. We want to bring Bola to the US so that he doesn't have to wait any longer to find that magical family that he's been so long without. He's looking for a foster or adopter & early 2024 to Chicago. If interested in helping us continue Bola's journey, please send us a message!
Gary is the other dog we’re bringing over thanks to Asociacion Vidanimales in Spain. Gary is an 11 yr old Breton, what we know as a Brittany Spaniel in the US. Gary is sweet, snuggly, & great with other dogs. It’s unknown at this time how he is with cats. Gary desperately wants a family to love in his golden years. We’re proud to partner with this amazing group in Spain for the first time & look forward to helping even more seniors thru our partnership! If you’d like to give this gent a bright future, please fill out an application on our website! We hope to bring him over early in the new year!
Kiara is a 9 yr old momma dog that was handed over by her hunter. Another old girl who’s safe in the storm thanks to our friend Martina Diaz in Spain.
Kiara may be 9 yrs old but don’t tell her! She’s good with other dogs & very sweet with people, but it’s unknown at this time if she’s good with cats. If interested in adopting this old girl, send us a message for more info!
Jack is a 2 yr old Portuguese Podengo who would otherwise spend the rest of his life in a shelter if not for the work we're doing with our friends at Bring Portuguese Podengos to Light. Jack will arrive to the US in June, 2024. If interested in fostering or adopting this handsome fella, fill out an application!
Who doesn't just love a black hound?! Sweet little Athena is a tiny little galga, almost whippet sized. She was supposed to come to us earlier this year from our friend Martina Diaz in Spain, but they discovered that she was due to have puppies after trying to spay her! Now that the puppies have been weaned & are on their own, it's time for this gorgeous girl to find a family of her own. She'll arrive to the US June, 2024.

Take a look at this adorable little lady named Tiza. She’s a small 1 year old podenco currently with our friends at SOS Podenco Rescue after being pulled from a pound there. She’s initially shy with people until she gets to know you but great with other dogs. She’ll need at least one other dog in her new home & a secure, fenced yard would be a bonus. She’s around 20-25 lbs. If interested in adopting this little peanut, send us a message or fill out an application on our website!
Poor Babata has spent his entire life in a shelter in Portugal. He knows nothing else but barking, outside life, & wet, overcrowded kennels where dogs don't get much sleep. Batata is now 5 years old & has never lived in a house with a family. He's great with other dogs but we don't know yet if he's cat friendly. Thanks to the hard work of Bring Portuguese Podengos to Light for the difference they make in the lives of these dogs. It seems like a drop in the ocean with what they're dealing with there. Batata will come to the US late in June to look for a family of his own. If you'd like to host this little guy as his foster family, or better yet offer to adopt him, fill out an application on our website!
The eyes have it with this gorgeous golden girl. Once (pronounced ON-Say which means eleven in Spanish) is a 1 year old tiny podenco caught with a trap cage in Spain & taken to our friends at SOS Podenco Rescue. She’s great with people once she gets to know you & is wonderful & playful with other dogs. She also doesn’t know how to walk on a leash yet. If interested in adopting this golden girl, send us a message or fill out an application.
And if you’re looking for an old soul in a dog’s body, look no further than Johari. Her name in African means “precious jewel” & she’s definitely that & more. This adorable little 8 yr old girl was rescued from the streets of Spain with milk still in her nipples & a huge inguinal hernia, probably from having had so many puppies over the course of her life. Luckily for her she was rescued by our friends at Asociacion Protectora ARGOS. She received the much needed vet care & got the hernia repaired. Johari is one of those dogs that you fall immediately in love with. She’s very calm & loving with other dogs & can even calm a fearful dog. She’s joyful, affectionate, & sociable too! She would be a fabulous therapy dog as she loves to be petted & loved on. She does take daily meds for now that are inexpensive. If you’d like to give this precious gem a chance at a second life, send us a message or fill out an application on the website!
This gorgeous fella is Paquito! Sadly, he had to have his right front leg amputated after a "hunting accident" while with his hunter in Spain. Thankfully for him our friends at Mastines en la calle took him in but he's now been available for almost a year with no luck on finding a forever family. We really want to give him his big shot in April but he needs a foster family waiting for him. He's medium sized, probably around 35-40 lbs, & is super sweet & great with other dogs. It's unknown at this time how he is with cats. The quicker these dogs can move, the more dogs they can ultimately help since it frees up a space for a new one. Won't you help just one dog to find his very own forever family? He can arrive to Dulles in April & would love to meet you! He's also had some help from his friends with Galgo Podenco Support who are helping cover some of his travel expenses. Now he just needs a foster family waiting for him
