Senior Sighthound Sanctuary's Admin Team

Director, Tracey McLaurin

Transport Coordinator, Tarrianne Basch

Adoption Coordinator, Marty Kutsenkow

Tracey has had a love of dogs her entire life. In her early twenties, she managed a Boarding Kennel, groomed pets, & showed her own personal Siberian Huskies & a Schipperke in obedience & conformation.

She became involved with greyhound adoption in 2008 with Greyt Expectations in Maryland & became the Application Coordinator. She continued to help them for the next several years & also became the Application Coordinator for Sighthound Underground, a non-profit organization helping sighthounds around the world.

In 2020, Tracey came up with the idea of creating an organization that would help the seniors, special needs, invisible, & overlooked hounds all around the world. Since its inception, the Sanctuary has adopted out over 200 dogs. She not only manages the daily work of the Sanctuary but also works full-time as an Executive Director for a regional EMS non-profit in Virginia. She enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 adult sons, & her pack of 20+ hounds, mostly all seniors.

Our Programs

Foster Program

Assistance to other Rescues

Foster Program

An integral part of every non-profit is its volunteers & what makes a good rescue is its foster families. What's unique about the Sanctuary is that foster families can agree to short or long term foster assignments or even forever fostering for the more difficult to place dogs. These dogs can have extensive medical conditions that would keep them from being an ideal adoptable dog, not that we don't think that they're perfect! Because they definitely are! We just understand that not everyone is able to adopt a dog with an unknown amount of medical expenses. That's why we've created the Sanctuary!

Sponsorship

Assistance to other Rescues

Foster Program

Coming soon! Our sponsorship program will allow people who can't adopt or foster right now to still make a difference! Some of our dogs may have continued medical costs once they come to the Sanctuary. When we have the opportunity for a dog to be sponsored, you can make a one time or regularly scheduled donation & will receive regular updates on their care.

Assistance to other Rescues

Assistance to other Rescues

We network with other rescue groups to help publicize their own senior and special needs dogs available, because these dogs deserve a happily forever after far more than even the younger dogs!
